Renal diseases and transplantation

Tipologia: Trapiantologia

Principal Investigator: Rampino

  • Cell therapy with Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSC) and/or with Extracellular Vesicles derived from MSC (EV) in in vitro model and in ex vivo and in vivo animal (rat and pig) models of renal diseases and transplantation.

  • Graft conditioning with MSC, EV and experimental drugs in animal and human models of marginal organs transplantation (DCD/ECD).

  • New drug delivery strategies in organ conditioning before transplantation.

  • Extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) innovative treatment in transplanted patients with chronic renal antibody rejection and transcriptomics studies on the mechanisms underlying the ECP therapeutic effect through Nanostring technology.

  • miRNA profile to evaluate the cancer risk in transplanted patients.

  • Studies on humoral and cellular immune response against virus (CMV, EBV, VZV, SARS-CoV2) and predictive markers of the bacterial/viral infections risk in transplanted and uremic patients.

  • Cross-talk kidney-gut in dialysis patients: Impact of dialysis biocompatibility and microbiome variation on immune/inflammatory state and survival of uremic patients.
