RESEARCH PROJECTS

The Cardiovascular Clinical Research Center (CCRC) is an independent clinical research program (Unità Operativa di Ricerca) that is involved in every aspect of cardiovascular clinical research at the Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico S. Matteo. Its focus is on the design and implementation of randomized clinical trials and observational studies across the whole spectrum of cardiovascular diseases.
An area of specific expertise and excellence is the conceptualization, design, and implementation of innovative quality improvement initiatives, such as the clinical governance programme of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ClinicalTrials.Gov ID NCT04255537), one of the largest conducted in Italy.

The CCRC personnel operates and coordinates site-based clinical research activities and work in close collaboration with the next generation of clinician investigators. The CCRC goal is to improve patients’ care by translating scientific evidence into clinical practice.
