The research activity on COVID 19 pandemic focused on the main clinical aspects of COVID 19 pathology by highlighting the 'early response' to the pandemic event, through the analysis of the impact of therapy in severe forms of respiratory failure, the creation of mathematical models predictive of the spread of the pandemic and the impact of vaccines, and the caractheristic of Covid patients admitted to Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo.
Actually we are involved in researches on the evaluation of clinical biomarker for early diagnosis of sepsis, on the role of gut microbiota in modulating the response to chemo-free therapy in hematological malignancies and on the role of chronic inflammation in the pathogenesis of valve damage in infective endocarditis. Moreover, we are involved in projects based on Artificial Intelligence components (Machine Learning and Deep learning).
